Which songs have been covered better by artists who didn't originally sing them?

I know, without a doubt, Danny Elfman does a better cover of the Oogie Boogie song than the original person who sang it. I don't know why, but he just sounds more fitting of the song; his voice is so versatile, and it adapts to the jazzy tune of the song really nicely in my opinion. Flogging Molly does some good covers of old Irish folk songs, but I am not sure if I'd say they are necessarily better.. certainly better than other people who covered them though.

I've been listening to a lot of NOFX lately, without really thinking about it. However, I just realized a little while ago that it often times has been Wolves in Wolves' Clothing, because I really feel like the results of this most recent election reminds me of how I felt right after George W. Bush Jr. was re-elected (Haha, technically that CD did release after his re-election so its decently appropriate). It's basically the same thing, the same feeling, for me right after this election too as I felt back then, especially being stuck here in Florida for the moment. There is no hope for Florida with the way things turned out this year. I'm ready to leave f-ing "Jesusland."
